  • How can my child join the Panthers Organization?

  • What if my child has never played basketball?

    We have many players that came to us with little to no basketball experience. We are a developmental program and will work with your child according to their skill level.

  • How will I get notifications about practices, games, and schedule updates?

    We communicate via the “TeamSnap” app.

  • What age groups do the Texas Panthers serve?

    We currently have athletes ranging from 3rd grade all the way up to 9th.

  • When and where is practice?

    Practice location varies depending on the season and facility availability. All practices are posted well in advance on TeamSnap with the time and address included.

  • How is playing time determined?

    There are many variables that go into playing time. For the younger teams and non-tournament teams, we try to evenly distribute playing time, however there may be factors like close-scoring games, behavior, and practice time that may be considered. For tournament teams, it relies heavily on ability, work ethic, grades, practice time, etc. Feel free to talk to a coach if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Do you participate in tournaments?

    Yes, we do have tournament teams for each grade level.

  • How much does it cost?

    Player fees depends on team, league, and travel. The coach will cover all of this with you upon registration.

  • How many players are on a team?

    We typically keep teams between 8-10 players. We want them to get playing time, but also be able to give them sufficient breaks during the game or be covered if a player is not there.

  • Can my child receive one-on-one training?

    Absolutely! We have many different practices and conditioning sessions where were break into smaller groups as well. If you are interested in one-on-one training, just reach out to your coach and we will get a session set up.

  • Do the boys and girls practice together?

    There may be times that we have boy and girl athletes working together, however we strive to maintain a respectful environment and have never had any issues arise.

  • Where do I get a uniform?

  • What if my child misses a practice? Who should I notify?

    While we highly encourage everyone to be at practice, we understand that life happens. If you will not be at practice, you can just let your coach know via TeamSnap.

  • Is there any equipment that I will need to purchase?

    We highly recommend getting your athlete a DribbleUp ball to use daily at home. This will make a detrimental difference in their ball handling skills and cause a major boost in their confidence on the court.

  • What size basketball does my child need?

    Boys & Girls, ages 9-11 / size 5, 17oz, 28.5”

    Girls, ages 12+ / size 6, 20oz, 28.5”

    Boys, ages 12+ / size 7, 22oz, 29.5”
